Install

Ready in a minute

Download and open the DMG.
Drag MailProof onto Applications.
Open MailProof.
An envelope icon appears in your menu bar, and a short setup window opens.
Follow the setup steps.
Turn on the Mail extension, let MailProof read Mail, and allow notifications.

MailProof updates itself. You can also choose Check for Updates… in its menu any time.

Privacy

Everything stays on your Mac

MailProof doesn't send your emails, contacts or settings anywhere, and there's no account to create.
It only reads what it needs: your tracked emails and their replies, and new mail to check for danger.
The safety checks are warnings, not a guarantee. MailProof isn't an antivirus.

Common questions

Does it work on iPhone or iPad? No, it needs a Mac with macOS 15 or later, because Mail on iPhone can't be extended. While your Mac is on with Mail open, red flags on dangerous emails also show on your iPhone, and replies you read on your phone are still noticed.

Which email accounts does it work with? Any account in Apple Mail: iCloud, Gmail, Outlook, Exchange or any IMAP account.

How do I remove it? Quit MailProof from its menu, turn off the extension in Mail › Settings › Extensions, and drag the app to the Trash.
